Wednesday morning I got two phone calls that agents wanted to come and show our house. I cleaned all day and made sure all the trash was out and the house smelled great. I took the kids to the high school to help with concessions at the LAX game and we were gone all night. Our agent does follow-up calls on Wed. mornings so I thought that we'd have at least another week till we found out how they went. He called and someone put an offer on the house. I was sweating bullets all day. I was a bit emotional as I signed the contract and freaking out some too. I can't believe that we will be saying goodbye to our first house. This is the third place we've lived but the only one we've owned in almost 9 years. I feel bittersweet to be leaving but know that we are only closing one chapter in our lives and will be opening a new one.
We went out for two hours today and looked at 7 houses. Nothing spectacular. We are pretty picky but think that we have full right to be since this will be the house we live in for a very long time. We will be going out again tomorrow morning for who knows how long. I'd like to put something under contract by next Friday at the latest. We close on our house on April 29th, so there isn't a whole lot of time, plus we need the money from this house to close on a new one first. It's possible we could be living in a hotel for a bit.
Lots of emotions and thoughts have been running through my head in the last 36 hours. I just hope we can find what we need.

I am so happy you were able to sell - but sad you have to leave at the same time. Good luck with the house hunt!
Congratulations!!! You will find something perfect for your family, I'm sure. I know the "bittersweet" feeling! That's the place where you've brought your babies home to, and you'll always remember it...but what a blessing to be able to sell during these times, and have the opportunity to find something that will be yours for years to come! That is wonderful! Congrats. Hope you were able to find something over the weekend. Dusty saw a diner on TV called the Purple Castle somewhere in your town he wanted me to tell you about.
that's great that things are moving so quickly! I don't hear and see a lot about the housing market since we're over here, but it's nice to hear some good news about things!!!
