After about 5 hours of back-aching work over the sewing machine I was able to finish this blanket for my friend Kadi's new baby. I think it turned out pretty cute. I've made 3 of these rag quilts and each time I remember why I don't make more. I really should go with 10" blocks instead of 5". It would cut the time in half I'm sure. Hopefully this will keep said baby nice and warm!

It looks great! I am currently working on my first rag quilt and am doing 7 inch squares, which I think are tedious. I also hate sewing though, so maybe I'm not the best judge. :) Despite the time and headache though, I think the blankets come out much cuter when the squares are smaller.
I'll be posting pictures of my finished blanket soon, so stay tuned...
Way to go. It's so cute. McKenna got one of these rag blankets, which we loved. I can't imagine making one.
The smaller blocks are much better. The one you gave us is nicer than a similar one we received with larger blocks. Keep up the hard work--that is what makes it quality.
