Expired
When the twins were in the NICU I had to rent a breast pump and take my milk into the nurses for them to feed them since they had NG tubes. Upon discharge they sent me home with all my milk plus I had some already at home that I froze. I haven't wanted to throw it away, just in case so I've been saving it. Well, it finally expired and I was somewhat sad to see it all go down the drain. I kept thinking of all the starving babies around the world and the mom's who would give anything for good healthy milk for their growing baby. As I threw it all away I thought that it would be interesting to see how much milk it actually was and it came out to roughly 300 oz. of milk and that's all within the first 10 days, taking away what the nurses fed them throughout those days. Can you say "MOO!"? It equates to almost 3 gallons of milk! Whoa! I'm sad to see it gone but at least I have room in the freezer for my side of beef that is getting cut this week. YUM!

That is a lot of milk. I have about 130 bottles/bags that I am starting to use, b/c I don't want to throw it out. It's amazing how much milk you make when you are pumping only in the beginning. I can't imagine what it would be like with twins.
Holy cow that's a lot of milk!!! And so sad to see it just be thrown out...
